Hi, we’re Robin and Pat, two former newspaper journalists who share a passion for travel. We love to explore the world, meet new people and learn about different cultures.

Robin worked at the Toronto Sun for 26 years, 18 of those as the National Travel Editor for the Sun Media chain (now part of Postmedia) of more than 160 newspapers and websites.

Pat worked at the Halifax Chronicle Herald for 26 years, where she covered everything from news to entertainment and more. The Herald is part of the Saltwire Network, which owns more than 35 newspapers and websites in Atlantic Canada.

We met in journalism school and kept up our friendship across the miles. Now our kids are grown and we’ve given up our day jobs to travel the world and share our stories and adventures on Gotta Love Travel.

Our site is all about keeping travel real — providing a snapshot of destinations we love and experiences we’ve enjoyed. As we build up our site, we’ll feature stories on everything from budget trips to all out splurges plus travel tips and tricks, so stay tuned!
